This bed frame was built as a wedding gift for a young couple. They wanted a bed that would last at least a couple decades, but would also act as the focal point of the bedroom. For the body, we decided to use solid hard maple for both its color and durability. The darker wood that is used is a walnut burl.
...And for those wondering about the miniature bed. That is for their cat.
